“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” – Roy T. Bennet

Listening to Music

Heaven, heaven fall down

As I wait in the dark for the light to arise

And the music is pounding in my head

Beyond the hedges of my hope

For a new and more glorious sunrise

Than the one previous

Spirit, Spirit pour out

Words that are there meant for my ears only

No one else seems to be hearing them

And I watch the red and the orange

They are beating on me telling me to paint

Inside my mind their picture

So I can remember until forever

When they are no longer and I can breathe

Without their hold on me

And I envision myself feeling free

But I won’t be because I needed them

That golden sky was necessary for my living

The green grass and the blue tint

At the edges of the clouds

I give You all my life

I give You everything

Can you believe what I say?

I can hardly believe it myself

When I am standing in the stillness

Except the movement of the sun

That passes by each day

Everywhere I am

No matter how thick the mist

Or how thin the air

Or how…

At Your name, angels will bow

I’m falling down

Something pushing at my chest

It won’t go away

And breath is hard to come by

But the pounding and the strummings

On my thoughts and on my lungs

Are meant to be

Because I was meant to be, too

  1. love it.

music is a good thing to deal with.

  2. I really enjoyed reading this. I swayed as I read it; my music on full blast and my house reverberating as I listened to Casting Crowns. Music always brings on calm and gets me ready to face whatever may come. God really gave us an awesome gift in music, didn’t He? Be blessed.

  3. oohsh! That was so amazing!

“So I can remember until forever…When they are no longer and I can breathe…Without their hold on me… And I envision myself feeling free” This line was very powerful!!!
