Heart Thief

Who was there to rearrange

The walls? and I’ve

Lost all that I meant to gain

What mattered most has

Turned away and struck again

And I’m left empty-handed and ashamed

Who was there?

Wasted hours

Wasting, holding

I am strung on

Borrowed heartstrings

Not that they gave but

Give so freely

Who was there to take

Their offerings?

What’s a vulture to the man

Who doesn’t struggle? he

Takes away the fun in it

What caused the hunger?

Many beat outside the chest

For what’s inside it

Showing marks on east and west

The wind did it

Wasted hours

Wasting, holding

I am strung on

Borrowed heartstrings

Not that they gave but

Give so freely

Who was there to take

Their offerings?

I know it’s a simple thing

To give up yourself

For somebody else’s dream

But you has wanted

Leaving every thought you have

Everything you wish for

And placing them in stranger’s heads

And on their shoulders?

Pictures

One of the most satisfying things in life

Is when you take an empty sheet of paper

And fill it with all the imaginations in the air

And the imaginations in your fingers

And keep adding onto every little corner

A memory or a design, or even a wish

And place hidden messages and stories in that picture

And step back and marvel in your masterpiece

In the swirls and the colors and creatures

And when you bring in a friend to show it off

When you hold it high above your head and say

“Look, look! This is what I have been doing all day.”
